new computer aided design rings
the benefits of computer aided design are that exact details can be requested and then seen as an image before the piece is made, this gives my clients confidence that the piece described and designed for them will be as they visualized it.
my recent commissions have been about working with my clients and my CAD team to to create some beautiful rings , some of which are illustrated below :-
many thanks to my clients for this lovely commission….
their testimonial was much appreciated:-
‘Helen provided my wife and I with an excellent professional service, which was an honest and enjoyable experience from our first contact to the finished bespoke rings she created for my wife.
Helen took time to fully understand my wife’s requirements and came up with two fantastic designs that met the brief perfectly and were subsequently commissioned.
Without hesitation, we would go straight to Helen for any future pieces and have no reservation in recommending her brilliant results. ‘
‘Thank you both so much , it was lovely to meet you and work with you both to achieve your special designs , and it’s really good to have met your expectations too.
Thanks again for trusting me with your commissions , I really appreciate it .’
another example is illustrated below :-
many different designs, and any stones can be set in rings such as this,-
each one being unique .
many thanks to my client for this lovely commission too
This was a commissioned piece, and was created mainly in silver but with gold wings this was all hand fabricated so involved many hours at the workbench making all the separate parts of the bee, it was a fun piece to do , so thank you to my client for the commission.
9ct white gold canal scene pendant-designed and created by Helen Burrell
This was a lovely commission to do which reflected my clients’ pastimes, as they owned a Canal barge.
It was commissioned for a Ruby Wedding Anniversary gift , and I created the scene in 9ct white gold to show the water passing under a canal bridge, with a fence and bulrushes in the foreground, and it was set with two diamonds to represent the sparkle on the water.
The pendant has a feature Ruby set in the top of the piece.
Other scenes can be made to reflect your special places too, just give me a call to discuss your ideas , 01509 239348
This silver bangle was designed and created for one of my clients to use up some of her family pieces . Special stones like the moss agate were set as a feature in this new silver bangle.
The stone was retained in its original setting from a ring she had previously…and was secured in a four claw silver mount. Small diamonds were used from another piece she had, and were flush set into the silver leaves, as symbols of water droplets on the leaves , tendrils of silver wire decorate the frame to suggest growing plants .
Other designs of bracelets and bangles can be created using your old family jewellery ,-please feel free to contact me with your ideas and we can work together to make something special.
my thanks to my client for this commission.
A Bespoke stud
This is a very kind testimonial from my client:- Adrian
‘My recent commission from Helen Burrell was prompted by a case of ‘Mid Life Crisis’ ( or rather ‘Mod’ life crisis!) I had, for some time, been trying to source a gents yellow gold , single stud earring depicting the iconic Red, White & Blue Mod Roundel using preferably, set stones. Having trawled the internet thoroughly I was unsuccessful – no surprise there as such a piece existed only in my mind’s eye as I had never actually seen such a piece. The decision was then made that the only way forward was to have one created for me – so back to the internet, where I arrived at Helens website. After reading her excellent reviews, I got in touch & I am so glad that I did. The finished piece was exactly what I had envisaged. The attention to detail & interpretation of my requirements was amazing & resulted in a 11mm gold stud using no less than 22 precious stones of exceptional quality to achieve the desired design which was subtle & tasteful – important when you are an aging Mod the wrong side of 50 & cannot get away with wearing anything too outlandish! However, in certain light, the fire & sparkle of the stones really are something – but I am sure I can get used to this! You could be forgiven for thinking that a bespoke piece of this quality would be prohibitively expensive but I was surprised to find this was not the case. Helen is a lovely lady who clearly cares about what she does & how she does it to achieve that special piece for her clients. If you want to obtain the unobtainable in bespoke jewellery, give her a call – You will not be disappointed!’
Many thanks Adrian it was great working with you,- and I love that we got it exactly right for you , my CAD design company deserve most of the praise though .
To my future clients,- please feel free to call me if you have a special piece in mind and I am happy to find the best way to create your special piece too ..
Here is another example of a transformation of reworked family gold.
– my client requested that I designed and created for them a special gift for a little girl , which would be given to her on her 18th birthday.
-they gave me some special family jewellery that had been gathered together for the purpose , some lovely rings that had very nice colourful stones in them , a ruby, diamonds sapphires and an emerald.
Between us we came up with the idea of a pendant in the form of a dragonfly , this was made by various methods such as casting up the ring shanks for the body of the dragonfly, and piercing out the wings from the wide wedding ring I was given .
The body of the dragonfly had the colourful stones set into it and the diamonds were flush set into the wings.
transformation of the reworked family gold -to creating the special piece …
Here are the photos of the rings and the design and the finished piece.
Many thanks to my clients for the lovely commission, it was a very special piece to create and I hope the little girl will love it on her 18th birthday .
If you have a special family event coming up in the future then perhaps you too could think of having a transformation done , I am happy to work with you to achieve your special piece . Just call me on 01509 239348 to discuss your ideas.
rose gold ring with beautiful faceted topaz
I have always loved strong colours and this is an example of how lovely combining the colours of stones with different golds can be to create a stunning effect …
There are many wonderfully coloured stones which can be made up like this to great effect.
Exceptional dress rings can be created for you using a variety of stones, such as:- peridot, amethyst aquamarine, opal, tanzanites, and tourmalines, (which come in all ranges of colour) and of course all the precious stones too, such as this orange sapphire.
This ring is still in stock and is for sale at £750.00 in 9ct rose gold .
(please feel free to enquire.01509 239348)
examples of tanzanite , one of my favourite stones
I have recently set a fire opal into the ring you see below , which had the glow of a winter fire in its colour, and needed little fuss in the setting to show it off to it’s best effect.
If you have a favourite colour of stone- I can get you some examples for you to choose from for your special ring, or pendant – just give me a call on 01509 239348

bespoke necklaces created to order
One of my main areas of work is to create ‘one off’ bespoke special pieces in the form of necklaces or bracelets, and even rings have been made, which have significance in terms of the themes they represent.
I have recently finished one, based on ‘a walk in derbyshire’ which had great significance for my client….
These pieces can be either relating to memories my clients may have, such as a holiday they remember or a special place or person perhaps…
I work with them to create a unique piece of jewellery which will serve to be worn in their lifetime, but can then be passed on as an heirloom later .
The one shown here is one of my own ‘Four seasons’ necklaces…
this one is based on ‘Winter’ as the theme. I can include my clients’ own valuable and sentimental items of family jewellery if if they choose to do so, as often these pieces are of great importance but are just left in a draw even though they mean so much to my clients, this way they can be revived into something to be worn again and appreciated.
If you would like to discuss your special piece please feel free to call me on 01509 239348
tanzanite and 18ct rose gold ring
I was asked by my client to source a beautiful tanzanite for her, to have set in a simple four claw 18ct rose gold ring, I was able to show her a selection of stones and this was the one she chose, it has made a wonderful ring .
My thanks to her for this lovely commission .
I work with my contacts in the trade to find the best stones for each of my clients based on their requirements, this way they can have a particular stone of their own choice to suit the special designs that I am commissioned to create.
tanzanite and 18ct rose gold studs
Later on in the year, she requested that I source a pair of tanzanite stones for her to make into 18ct rose gold studs to match the ring……it has made a beautiful set.
Call me if you have something in mind, and we can work together to make something special for you too.
